Msc or PhD C++ Developer (To start July/August) Front Office Exotic Rates Quant Desk, London, Circa £65,000 plus competitive bonus and benefits
My client is a leading European Investment Bank, with a fantastic reputation for having some of the strongest front office quant teams in London–especially within rates.
An opportunity has arisen for a solid C++ developer to join their front office exotic rates desk in a role which will elevate them as one of the senior technologists on the team. You will take an instant impact on various development projects, working closely with the traders and quants to develop innovative solutions using C++.
Your business exposure will be huge and you will quickly be expected to become well versed in all financial terminology and products (for this a mathematical background could be useful). The team is ideally looking for a passionate and motivated technologist, somebody who codes for fun and enjoys learning about new languages.
Your role will heavily focus on risk, analytics and pricing and for this you will need to be a strong problem solver. You will report to the head quant on the desk and work alongside some highly experienced computer scientists, mathematicians and physicists in an environment which is friendly, collaborative and challenging..
The ideal candidate for Msc or PhD C++ Developer will require the following skill set:
-Solid C++ Programming Experience,
-Windows and Unix,
-Full software lifecycle experience,
-Strong academic background in Computer Science/Physics/Financial
Engineering – Msc or PhD preferred,
-Good communication skills,
-Desire to work in a challenging front office team,
-Interest in finance and derivatives.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented C++ developer to step into a leading and successful Investment Bank in a role which will provide a steep learning curve and an opportunity to really widen your skill set.
Whilst a background working in finance is preferred, the team is willing to see a C++ developer from a complex background such as research, telecommunications and gaming if you are motivated, enthusiastic and keen to move into a new industry.
